2015 Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management Forum – The Global Supply Chain Strategy under the New Normal Situation Held

June 10, 2015 Ningbo - The 2015 Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management Forum – The Global Supply Chain Strategy under the New Normal Situation, which was hosted by the School of Management of Zhejiang University and the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University as well as supported by the Zhejiang University MBA Program Office and the Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management (GMSCM) Program, was successfully held in the Shangri-la Hotel at Ningbo. The summit had drawn a lot of attention from Universities, institutions, professional staffs, and many media and presses. Except for the School of Management of Zhejiang University and Desautels Faculty of McGill University, Association of foreign investing enterprises from Suzhou Industrial Park, Canada Chamber of Commerce, FT China and many other presses also took part in this summit.

The summit was hosted by Prof. SHOU Yongyi, Director of the MBA Program Office of Zhejiang University, and Prof. Saibal Ray, Associate Dean of the Desautels Faculty of McGill University. Prof. CHEN Ling, Associate Dean of School of Management of Zhejiang University, Prof. LI Shanling, Mr. MA Shuqun, Admission Director of the GMSCM Program, Mr. Lonny Kubas, General Manager of Canada National Rail Corp Asia Pacific, Mr. CHEN Lianjing, Operational Director of Pratt&Whitney (Shanghai) China, Mr. Rami Goldratt, President of Goldratt Consulting Company, Mr. YAN Gang, Vice President of Zhejiang Dahua Technology Company Ltd., Mr. LI Weilin, Director of Neusoft Management Consulting Company took part in the summit.


Prof. CHEN Ling made the opening speech. He mentioned China’s whole economic structure was changing profoundly under the world new economy. Chinese enterprises were embracing the world even faster than before. How should enterprises upgrade the supply chain and the global supply chain management system in order to adjust to the new economic situation was everybody’s concern. This summit was a big step in connecting the theories and practices in supply chain management.




Led by Prof. Saibal Ray, Mr. Lonny Kubas, Mr. CHEN Lianjing, and Mr. Rami Goldratt took part in a discussion on the topic “The opportunities and challenges multinational companies face in supply chain management under the new situation”. Each of them shared their opinions about the methods in improving supply chain management system and in how to face the global long term challenges.
