Responsibilities

This is the first line manager role within the Investor Services Hangzhou, Fund Accounting operations. The incumbent is responsible for managing the daily operation of a fund group and leading the team to meet the business unit goals and objectives. The primary responsibilities include:

• Plan and manage the daily operations of the fund group;
• Ensure that all client or fund specific procedures applicable to the fund group are understood and applied by all fund group members;
• Plan and manage fund group resourcing to ensure that all reporting obligations are delivered in an accurate and timely manner;
• Demonstrate proficient understanding of fund analysis and fund specifics; and take ownership of all problems and resolution pertaining to the assigned funds for the fund group;
• Review and refine the operational process. Support the implementation of operational efficiencies and re-engineering initiatives. In addition, assist in identifying inefficient and manual processes that can be improved;
• Manage new business transitions or business migration activities and ensure proper installation within the fund group;
• Enforce and monitor adherence with the corporate compliance and risk management policies and controls within the fund group, and
• Manage resourcing needs within the group and participate in the recruitment process, succession planning, staff development and staff retention initiatives.

 

Requirements

• University degree with a major in Accountancy or Business preferred.
• Minimum 3+ year solid experience in financial services, fund accounting and/or a back-office operations environment.
• Minimum 2+ years in staff management or supervisory role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to work in a fast pace and changing environment.
• Solid problem solving and analytical skills. 
• Ability to exercise sound judgment when escalating issues to senior management and internal clients.
• Service-oriented and proactive approach.
• Ability to inspire a cohesive team culture, supportive to team targets and goals.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Mandarin proficiency will be an asset.
