2014 GMSCM Program Opening Ceremony

October 10, 2014 Hangzhou -The GMSCM Program opening ceremony was successfully held on Oct. 10th 2014 at Qizhen Hotel on Zhejiang University campus. Prof. CHEN Ling, Associate Dean of the School of Management of Zhejiang University, Prof. LI Shanling from McGill University, Mr. LIN Zhiying, General Manager and Chief representative of Southeast China from Hongkong Fung Group, Mr. Olivier Brault, General Manager of Canada Soprema Group China, Mr. Graeme Faulkner, Chief Director of TRACC China, Mr. Paul Jensen from HR Coach Group, Prof. SHOU Yongyi, Director of Zhejiang University MBA Program, 26 freshmen of 2014 GMSCM Program, and alumni of the 2013 GMSCM Program were present at the opening ceremony.

Prof. CHEN Ling and Prof. LI Shanling made the welcome speeches on behalf of the School of Management of Zhejiang University and the Desautels Faculty of McGill University respectively, and they all wished all the freshmen to make big improvements after two years learning. Prof. CHEN Ling also mentioned the GMSCM Program was a brave trial in the area of MBA program between Zhejiang University and McGill University, and the program was run successfully.

Prof. SHOU Yongyi gave a detailed introduction to the curriculum arrangement, sponsors and internship programs of the GMSCM Program, and introduced each of the freshmen. Mr. LIN Zhiying and Mr. Olivier Brault also made keynote speeches from their perspectives.

In the afternoon, all the guest speakers and alumni had a discussion about global manufacturing and supply chain management. Mr. Graeme Faulkner and Prof. LI Shanling shared their opinions with all the guests, which was a good help for students in later study and research.
