SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY:

Vincent Thomson

Werner Graupe Professor of Manufacturing Automation, McGill University, Canada

BSc, University of Windsor, Canada

PhD, McMaster University, Canada

Dr. Thomson has 20 years research experience in manufacturing and information technology. He is the initial chairholder of the Werner Graupe Chair in Manufacturing Automation which promotes teaching and research in manufacturing. The MMM Program in McGill University is one of Dr. Thomson's first initiatives performed under the Chair. His research interests include manufacturing processes and process management, including new product development and concurrent engineering.

Dr. Thomson currently works half time for Bombardier Aerospace.  This has allowed him to make observations of the operations of a multinational corporation and relate it to his research on manufacturing. The seminar content will be underscored by many examples from manufacturing companies, especially from the aerospace industry.
